Port Moody

Port Moody is the smallest of the Tri-Cities, with 33,535 residents wrapped around the east end of Burrard Inlet. Its scale is the appeal — it is walkable in a way its larger neighbours are not, and the waterfront is genuinely part of daily life rather than a view from a distance.

Most recent supply is apartment and townhouse development concentrated around Moody Centre and Inlet Centre, both built deliberately around their SkyTrain stations. Older detached neighbourhoods sit up the slope to the north and along the inlet. Rocky Point Park and the brewery row beside it are the centre of gravity for the newer part of town.

The choice in Port Moody is largely new against established. Moody Centre and Inlet Centre are recent apartment and townhouse development built around the SkyTrain stations, walkable to Rocky Point and the breweries. The older detached neighbourhoods up the slope offer more land and more privacy, and give up the walkability that is much of the reason people look here in the first place.

Two Evergreen Extension stations serve the city, putting downtown Vancouver within a direct SkyTrain ride. The West Coast Express stops at Moody Centre. Barnet Highway runs west to Burnaby.
